In a large casserole, heat oil and sauté garlic then onions. Add water, beef, black pepper and patis. Bring to a boil then simmer until beef is tender. Add potatoes. Simmer until potatoes are cooked through. Add cabbage and pechay. Cook a little while longer and serve hot in bowl with rice. No need to overcook this one.

- 1 kilo beef, cubed into 1 ½” cubes
- 8 potatoes, cubed
- 1 bundle pechay (bok choy), cut in two
- 2 small cabbage, quartered
- 5 onions, diced
- 1 head garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons patis
- 3 tablespoons cooking
- 10 pieces of whole black pepper
- 1 liter of water
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
